“One for the Memoires: From Germantown to Ukraine”
“Pieces of a Man”
“A Series of Self Portraits of Said Artists of Self and Other Peoples”
“Perspectives”
“I am showing photographs from two trips to Ukraine, one in 2017 to visit my dear friend Christopher Allen and then with his parents, John and Joyce, a year later. This exhibit is an expression of our friendship, which began at Germantown Friends School. Images reveal our shared sense of adventure and life in Ukraine, a country that was close to Chris's heart. These photographs are immensely important to me because Ukraine was the last place we explored together. Chris lived in Kyiv for nearly three years and he shared his love for the country with his friends, family and other visitors.
Photography is powerful because it records a moment, a feeling and creates a strong memory, which we can observe over time and grow with. Photographs transcend time, show relationships and can be a reflection of ourselves. These photos speak to life, death, travel, friendship, dealing with loss and the cycles we go through in our lives.
This show is Dedicated to Christopher Allen and our deep friendship.”

"In this installation, I’ll work to create a visual representation of seeing a perspective outside of the one we are accustomed to experiencing. Some of this will be achieved through literal objects whose perspective is skewed in size, but also trying to provoke thought about embracing things we consider to be abnormal or imperfect. I’d also like to give some character and life to inanimate objects by adding human or animalistic features to different appliances around the room. I’d also like to play with the idea of space and make certain parts of the bathroom feel bigger with optical perspective painting. " JEK
Joseph Edgerton Krause is a Philadelphia based artist who develops works combining elements of cubist collage with ink and gesso renderings. Discarded items such as napkins and wood scraps are mediums in Joseph’s work, framed in repurposed wood, and finished with tung oil, polyurethane, and resin. The idea of using scrapped materials extends into a performance art project called Pipe Dreams, which centers around the copper pipes and steel plates of an old water heater. Rhythms become part of a series titled Scribble Faces, composed of human expressions in rows of ornate rhythmic scrawls, often drawn on newsprint. His Window series explores the interaction of planes of geometric matter through a static portal. A focus on face shapes, as well as dense formations of dot work, serve as underlying themes and inspirations for Joseph.
