iMPeRFeCT PRISMS
Taking It To The Streets - 2020
The iMPeRFeCT PRISMS is a mobile exhibition system that will give us the ability to bring art to different places, settings and situations. Our mission has always been to nurture diversity in our programing and audiences and to engage with communities that would otherwise have little to no access to artists or the work we do. Since we still feel it is unsafe to have in-gallery gatherings, we have decided not to go virtual, but to take art to the streets.
We want to add our voices, our spirits and our energy to this telling election and this devastating pandemic that has exposed the lies, truths and hypocrisies of our nation. And yet, we celebrate with art, music and a vision for change, social justice, peace and love.
The iMPeRFeCT PRISMS Project is an ensemble
of 7ft tall free standing, three sided columns (prisms)
that will function as our traveling, open air alternate gallery,
designed and built by our friend Isaiah Price.
Each artist is responsible for one 3’ x 7’ wooden panel.
We have launched a 10 day campaign to help
fund this project, if you would like to contribute to it,
please visit our donation page.

Throughout the Fall of 2020 and with the impending elections upon us, iMPeRFeCT set out to bring these PRISMS out to different settings in our neighborhood, Germantown. We set them up on the sidewalks, in parks, on fences and Maplewood Mall and brought art out to an unsuspecting audience, the weather was gorgeous and we lucked out with some spellbinding skies.
We joined protesters for social justice on Germantown Ave., rallied people to vote with art and music by DJ Femi’s mixes on Election Day and partied all day on November 7 at Maplewood Mall, when the results were finally announced.
