MAR 26 - APR 16, 2016
iMPeRFeCT Gallery is pleased to invite you to the opening reception for the new exhibit of photographs by Bob Emmott. These are nature photos like you haven't seen before, look at water through his eyes. An instillation by Salvatore Cerceo will be displayed in our ever-changing ReDRooM, we give no clues on this one, it's a surprise, just come see.
Our front window features a memorial installation of Randy Dalton's work, who we lost recently, we're still DOING BLUE Randy...
BOB EMMOTT
After majoring in Graphic Design , Bob Emmott opened his own advertising photography studio in Philadelphia, working with clients as diverse as pharmaceutical to electronics, toys to musical instruments to dance.
Throughout this time his personal work involved nature and especially water with it's many hidden faces, those nuances that one needs to slow down to observe.
About 12 years ago Emmott's work with dance and water began to collide through their combined elements of rhythm and movement. This aspect of water in nature —it's music— continue to fascinate and inform his explorations today.
"Water always presents it's image to me as a rhythm, a time signature. The music is sometimes gentle, sometimes raucous, but almost always has complex sounds. This is what I try to capture in my work." —Bob Emmott

"Art making is naturally a rebellious act. The life of an artist alone is a powerful force against all that is unnatural and dehumanizing." Salvatore Cerceo
