"My pieces in this exhibition are all inspired by the way I grew up and being African-American but yet also being exposed to African culture, travel, old vintage Americana style military and how I fuse together all of the combinations of European luxury meet African American influence is the culmination of this exhibit!" Idris Muhammad

"My practice is based on the study and appreciation of nature and the role we as creators can play in it.  Through iteration, trial and error, and sometimes sheer happenstance, I am able to tap into a current of consciousness which connects me to my ancestors, a thread that traces through history and connects us collectively.  I hope to be able to share some of what I have learned to others, especially children, because a creative outlet is so important and can rewire the way we perceive and interact with the world, positively, from a young age."
