“Appendages is a collection of work from reflecting on the idea that we go through the world like sponges, absorbing and saturating.
Limbs extrude to become the architecture of things I'm feeling.
Sweating out and dripping fragments that trail like vestigial bread crumbs.
An interpretation of what the 4th dimension might look like, where the things we see aren't limited to the current moment in time but a snake of all of our moments.
Appendages entangled.”

About Joseph:
Joseph Edgerton Krause is a Philadelphia based artist who develops works combining elements of cubist collage with ink and gesso renderings. Discarded items such as napkins and wood scraps are mediums in Joseph’s work, framed in repurposed wood and utilizing various finishing techniques including polyurethane, resin, and tung oil. The varying degrees of finish work contrast with bare materials, supporting a mission of preserving textures and layers. Rhythmic scrawls and motions are the mechanical vehicles of the images Joseph creates, scratching along contours of faces and edificial structures. His work serves as meditations on how humans observe and relate, absorbing the world around us and perpetuating our desires and inspirations through experimental nature.

“SPLASH”
“SPLASH, in the backroom of iMPeRFeCT, attempts to be playful. The works in the show span years and reflect a still resonation. Think of splashing, dreaming of no consequences, as a kid laughing and jumping in puddles; an act that, I relate to painting. Paint, a goo, like primordial ooze, is full of potential. The puddle is exciting in its, possibly reflective, flatness. It is obedient to gravity and has a flexible orientation. You can walk around a puddle, looking at it from all angles. Or, you can enter into it and break the film, disturb the surface. Painting, like movies, is literary. Word play is a gateway for pictorial ideas. I spin language. I rotate text. A play on words, TOAST, became a link between an action, a public explanation over libations, and a reference, to create statements on toasted bread in lieu of having to speak. I added wings to a hobby horse and made Dada Dodo. I copy and paste, duplicating, sampling and remixing. I make a thing, drop a stone, and see the ripples. About Mark:
Mark Dilks is a Philly based multidisciplinary creator and collaborator. With a background in collage and painting, physical touch, materiality, and accumulated sampling play strongly in Mark’s life and work. Mark enjoys painting with oil outside in real time, collaging on toasted bread at home and creating sounds in improvisational settings. Some areas of interest are puddles, feedback loops, mix tapes, the handheld, and open ended cooperation. As an educator Mark believes strongly in asking questions and learning through play. Mark is an alum of the University of Pennsylvania (MFA2013) and of Hampshire College (F00, forever).

“Nowhere Land”
“Nowhere Land is a collection of works by Philadelphia artist Nial McCoubrey, made over time as part of a regular drawing practice. These drawings come from nowhere, often spontaneous, and made without reference or real objective. By drawing things that exist somewhere else, or nowhere at all, there is a sense of freedom gained. It creates a space where one can be instinctive and honest. The result is a catalogue of subtle reflections – whimsy, sadness, longing, curiosity, flatness, awkwardness.” N.M.

“Little Bits”
In this exhibit called “Little Bits” in the ReDRoom at Imperfect Gallery you’ll find primarily a collection of Reiki infused @space.trash.phl tiny canvas as well as an experiential sit-and-think or take-it-home-with-you options. Space.trash.phl is abundantly found objects of various size, shape, color, texture, manufacture that have developed into a practice for alchemizing trash into treasure. Poetry has also been a life raft helping to bridge connection and relationship from the inside out, it’s an honor to share with you!

About Ariel:
Ariel Monroe (she/ her/ they) is a Philadelphia-based artist, alternative wellness practitioner, owner of Delta E.M. Wellness, published poet, speaker, model and cat mom. They love nature, world music & cuisine, enjoy traveling and believe that expression and connection are tantamount to the human experience. They are inexhaustibly curious, dedicated to cultivating inner peace, lifelong learning and community service. They find contentment and happiness walking, cleaning the earth and channeling Holy Fire Reiki while creating works of art solo and in groups. Recently, they began dancing with fire palm torches (with specialty insurance to be safe) and sharing in unison physical and spoken flow while utilizing headstand assistance equipment for core strength and to continue expanding healthy habits.
