Samba Dendê at the iMPeRFeCT Studio
For the first time in the Philadelphia community, percussionist Dendê Macedo presents Samba Dendê with Samba Junino, which is a rhythm played in the celebrations of the São João’s/Saint John's Party in the north and northeast of Brazil. This is a popular festive event and a major component of regional popular culture among Brazilians in the Bahia region but it's inclusive and open to everyone. You are welcome to bring drinks, snacks and food.
