A TALK and a SCREENING

You are invited to a talk moderated by by Allison McDaniel, one of the guest curators of History As I Know It, proceeded by the screening of the film KILO | Iba se 99. [I wish to communicate with you. | I acknowledge 99], by exhibiting artist Tiona McClodden.

History As I Know It is the current group exhibition by eight contemporary artists (Maricruz Alarcón, Tamara Cedré and Carlene Muñoz, Kate Harding, Tiona McClodden, Ty Pownall, Kameelah Janan Rasheed and Sable Elyse Smith). Their work investigates spaces of slippage between perceived notions of historical factuality and the subjective, fluid character of memory and imagination.  This show seeks to create unique visual and sensorial experiences for viewers, while retaining an overarching conceptual proposition that underscores the precariousness of historical record and its slippage in space and time.
Allison will give us insights into the curatorial framework for this show, as well as explore concept and artistic practice with the guest artists.

This talk will be followed by our End of Campaign Party.
